Oops! Another thumbs down for Meghan Markle‘s new Netflix show all the way from the UK.

A British celebrity chef is now the latest to knock the former working royal’s new Netflix series “With Love, Meghan“; the words are quite intense.

Meghan Markle’s new show debuted on the streaming platform on March 4, with several celebrity guests who have graced her kitchen, including Mindy Kaling, Abigail Spencer, and chef Roy Choi.

Chef Jameson Stocks Advised Meghan Markle To Go Back To Acting

    MEGA

British celebrity chef Jameson Stocks recently shared his thoughts on Meghan’s new Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” describing it as “painful to watch.”

Jameson criticized the show, calling it “terrible” and stating that everything about the Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle series felt tiresome. He remarked on the slow and lethargic music, which contributed to the viewing experience he found quite unpleasant.

The chef further suggested that Markle should consider returning to acting, pointing out her talent displayed during her time on “Suits.” In the interview with GB News on Saturday, he emphasized that individuals should focus on what they do best, and acting is that for the mother-of-two.

The Chef Declined Netflix’s Offer To Work On The Actress’s New Cooking Show

Jameson, an author and ambassador for King Charles III’s Prince’s Trust, also revealed that Netflix had approached him to take on a consulting role for Meghan’s show. In his words:

“I was asked last year by Netflix if I wanted to consult on a lifestyle program. They didn’t go into too much detail about who it was but I already kind of knew who it was anyway.“

He admitted that he declined the offer out of fear of criticism from the public, who were already not on Meghan’s side. “I felt like even if she produced a really great program, which I was quite skeptical of, that I might get a little bit slammed for being a part of it,” he added.

The chef expressed his belief that when it comes to learning, the idea of teaching a task only to have it feel forced and insincere is unproductive. He emphasized that if someone is going to undertake a task, it should come from their initiative and genuine effort.

‘With Love, Meghan’ Gets A Second Season Despite Kickbacks From Viewers

Jameson’s words came barely 24 hours after the streaming platform announced that there would be another season for the actress to strut her stuff in the kitchen.

The announcement, according to The Blast, came just a few days following the first season release, and the Duchess happily shared the news through her Instagram Stories, where she expressed her excitement about the upcoming season, writing:

“I’m thrilled to share that season 2 of With Love, Meghan is coming!”

Despite the first season receiving significant criticism from both critics and viewers, it premiered just recently with eight episodes, which are each 33 minutes long. Meghan, alongside various guests, shared lifestyle advice from a luxurious $8 million (£5 million) rental home near Montecito.

Netflix Enjoyed The Controversy Which Trailed The First Season

On why the Netflix team jumped at the chance to renew the show for another run, an insider explained that controversy was the fuel. According to the source, the ongoing near-public meltdown around the show played a key role in securing another fun-filled second season.

“This may raise a few eyebrows, but one thing which Netflix loves is controversy – and this show certainly created a lot of debate,” the source noted.

In the wake of the harsh criticisms surrounding the eight-part series, there was skepticism about its chances for renewal. However, the streamer appears pleased with the buzz it has generated on “both sides of the Atlantic this week.”

Since their high-profile deal with Netflix in 2020, Harry and Meghan have experienced many successes and setbacks. Their documentary, “Harry & Meghan,” was a remarkable hit, reaching nearly 29 million households within its first four days.

Conversely, other projects like the polo-themed sports docuseries “Live to Lead” and “Heart of Invictus,” which focused on wounded veterans at the Invictus Games, did not capture the same level of interest.

Now, to rebrand herself, the Duchess is launching “With Love, Meghan,” positioning herself as a “domestic goddess.”

Some media outlets are not convinced the show has anything to offer, with some critics labeling it a “gormless lifestyle filler” lacking depth.

The Guardian’s Stuart Heritage described the series as “so pointless it might be the Sussexes’ last TV show,” highlighting concerns that this could mark the end of Meghan’s projects with Netflix.

The Telegraph also echoed similar sentiments, awarding the show a meager two stars and labeling it a “narcissistic filler.”

The Blast’s Kristin Myers also criticized Meghan for appearing “hilariously out of touch,” particularly when she encouraged viewers to engage with local beekeepers to make candles.

Myers observed the glaring disparity between Meghan’s pristine appearance and her claims of a love for gardening, noting that her “meticulously pressed blouses” suggest a disconnect from the hands-on nature of her activities. The Blast’s Kristin Myers also criticized Meghan for appearing “hilariously out of touch,” particularly when she encouraged viewers to engage with local beekeepers to make candles.
