Former “Vanderpump Rules” star Jax Taylor is slamming his soon-to-be ex-wife, Brittany Cartwright, in new legal documents, claiming he’s been overlooked for new gigs because of her previous claims that he was abusive. In new legal documents, Taylor is also requesting that Cartwright, the mother of his child, Cruz, pay him a shocking amount in monthly spousal support.

For those unfamiliar, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright announced their plan to divorce in 2024, and the fallout from their marriage was captured during season 2 of Bravo’s reality show, “The Valley.” In July 2025, Taylor announced his departure from the explosive reality series and has remained out of the public eye since.

According to a new report from TMZ, Taylor, 47, asked a judge to order Cartwright to pay him $17,401 in monthly spousal support as their ongoing divorce proceedings continue.

Taylor’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, also said the Bravo villain wants the judge to order Cartwright to pay $250,000 in legal fees, plus an additional $10,000 for a forensic accountant.

Following Cartwright’s initial divorce filing, a source told PEOPLE that Taylor had mixed emotions about the move. “He knows this is ultimately the right decision but is sad that things ended up the way they have,” the insider said. “It’s been an emotional month for him, and he’s trying to stay strong for his son.”

Don’t forget, the reality star claimed in 2026 that she’d been subjected to a “pattern of acts of domestic violence” by Taylor and alleged the “manner in which he abuses me has changed.”

She added in the documents, “He now uses our required communications concerning Cruz to harass and threaten me, he makes threats of public humiliation on social media, and he continuously confronts me during custody-related interactions as additional means of intimidating, harassing, and disturbing my peace.”

Elsewhere in his filing, Taylor said he’s currently unemployed and has no regular income because of Cartwright’s alleged campaign to label him an “abuser.”

Taylor said his estranged wife’s allegations have caused him to lose work, including a spot on Fox’s “Special Forces,” and have put an end to his ongoing collaboration with Carpe Deodorant.

Taylor’s last television appearance was season 2 of “The Valley,” where viewers saw him check into a rehabilitation center after being pushed by his co-stars.

Before that, Taylor snagged a role in Peacock’s “House of Villains” in 2023, during which he was the first contestant removed from the show.

Despite his recent filing, Taylor said he’s earned just over $30,000/month over the last year; however, he claimed his expenses total $28,944.

He told the judge that Cartwright’s media company generated more than $630,000 in gross income from January 1 to May 31, 2026. Taylor reportedly has $464,671 across a variety of bank accounts and close to $195,000 in other property.

According to the filing, Taylor asked the judge to remove Cartwright’s authority to make medical decisions for their son, Cruz, and also mentioned “newfound knowledge” of neglect and “unreasonable delays” in the toddler’s medical care and education.

Remember, Taylor and Cartwright announced their son had been diagnosed with autism in 2025. In a candid post, Cartwright said her focus was on informing others about autism and helping her son live a full life despite his diagnosis.

“It doesn’t mean that he’s not going to be the smartest in his class. It doesn’t mean he won’t work for NASA one day. There aren’t any limitations to what he can do,” she said, per The Blast.

Last year, Taylor also discussed changes in his life, revealing he was pursuing sobriety after being addicted to cocaine and alcohol for more than two decades.

“I’ve never said this in my life,” he said. “So, to come out and say that I have an addiction [and] that I have a sickness that I have to work on the rest of my life is a really big deal for me,” he continued, adding that his confession was like having a “huge weight lifted off [of] my shoulders.”

Since then, Taylor has celebrated sobriety milestones, most recently running a 5K through the “Recovery Through Repetition” program.
