Green energy: ‘Speed up permitting reform’

Re: “Cut red tape for green projects to gird for end of tax credits” (Aug. 10, Opinion):

Thanks to the editorial board for explaining how much we all have to lose if Gov. Bob Ferguson, Commerce Director Joe Nguyen and others do not move quickly to take advantage of the Biden-era tax credits. Governmental permitting in this state typically moves far too slowly.

The permitting of renewable electricity projects must happen before Biden’s tax credits are slashed by President Donald Trump’s big bad budget bill. After the tax credits expire at the end of this year, we could all be shocked by the high cost of electricity.

Let’s all get moving to speed up permitting reform and to build out solar arrays, dancing windmills and long links of power lines we need.
