By the time you read this, my cartoon could be out of date because Mariners’ slugger Cal Raleigh may have hit his 57th home run in the 2025 regular season.
But 55 and 56 were the numbers Monday night at a game in Kansas City where Raleigh surpassed Yankee legend Mickey Mantle’s record for most homers in a season by a switch-hitter. Raleigh’s 56th ball sent out of the park also tied Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. for most home runs in a season hit by a Mariner.
And they just keep coming.
