Patrick Mahomes could retire tomorrow and immediately walk right into the Pro Football Hall of Fame when he’s first eligible. Mahomes, 30, has already accomplished everything most quarterbacks could only dream of achieving throughout a full career.
However, on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback reached a major milestone, further demonstrating the historic pace he’s been on so far in his career.
With the Chiefs’ first touchdown in their “Sunday Night Football” matchup with the Detroit Lions, Mahomes threw a six-yard strike to second-year wide receiver Xavier Worthy. That touchdown pass was Mahomes’s ninth of the season, but more importantly, it was the 300th overall of his career.

And while getting to 300 would be a big deal no matter what, it’s an even bigger deal since Mahomes did it in the fewest games of any quarterback in league history. Mahomes has now surpassed 300 total touchdown passes combined from the regular season and playoffs.
