Mickey Rourke is facing even more financial struggles, as his dog, Ivan, now reportedly needs surgery that could cost the actor a substantial sum.

Rourke has been a steady presence in the headlines over the last few weeks, after reports that he was facing eviction from his Hollywood home went viral.

Following the report, fans rallied to raise over $100,000 for Mickey Rourke, who rejected the six-figure donation in a scathing online video, calling the move “embarrassing” and “humiliating.”

TMZ shared a new report about the “Wrestler” actor, revealing his dog, Ivan, will need a pricey surgery. The cost is reportedly $10,000, and Ivan may need a second surgery costing between $6,000 and $8,000.

The publication shared that the news is just the latest financial burden Rourke has had to face in recent weeks, as the outspoken public figure was facing eviction from his West Hollywood home after reportedly falling behind nearly $60,000 in rent.

According to The Blast, Rourke’s landlord, Eric Goldie, served the actor with paperwork in December 2025. Legal documents revealed that Rourke began renting the California property in March 2025 for $5,200 per month; however, the rent increased to $7,000 months later.

The news of Rourke’s financial struggles struck a chord with fans, who rallied together to donate to the “Celebrity Big Brother” contestant’s GoFundMe, created by his management team.

“This fundraiser is being created with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent that from happening,” the campaign’s description read. “Mickey Rourke is an icon—but his trajectory, as painful as it is, is also a deeply human one. It is the story of someone who gave everything to his work, took real risks, and paid real costs.”

It didn’t take long for Rourke to respond to the stories about him. In a scathing video, according to The Blast, Rourke condemned the GoFundMe effort and assured his fans that he wouldn’t ask them for money. “That’s not me, okay?” he said. “I’d rather, if I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for no f-cking charity. I’d rather stick a gun up my a** and pull the trigger.”

Rourke’s spokesperson, Kimberly Hines, came forward shortly after the video was made public and took accountability for the fundraiser. Hines explained the GoFundMe was created with Rourke’s consent and was intended to help get the struggling actor back on his feet.

“We said, ‘Mickey, there’s some people that want to help you out.’ He’s like, ‘Okay, great.’ I don’t think he understood, and now it’s taken on this media frenzy, and he flipped out,” Hines said. “Nobody’s trying to grift Mickey. I want him working. I don’t want him doing a GoFundMe.”

Hines stated that she’d been helping Rourke financially since the news became public; however, she implied that the financial support would eventually end. “He should probably take this help, because unless he goes back to work, I can only finance him for so long. I’m not a Getty. I’m a working woman,” she said.

In a January 15 Instagram post, Rourke expressed his hope to reimburse the “concerned parties” who donated to the “scam to raise money for me!!” Rourke called the campaign “a cruel embarrassment.”

Rourke explained that he was working with his lawyer to return people’s money. “Truthfully, there is still over $90,000 that still needs to be refunded to concerned parties that sent their money,” he shared. “Please people, get your money. The person who pulled this crap shouldn’t get one … dollar.”
