After Zelensky’s Blowout in the White House, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz Hints a New Ukrainian Leader May Be Needed To Achieve Peace | The Gateway Pundit

The fallout from Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky’s unacceptable behavior in a public exchange with President Donald J. Trump and JD Vance in front of the media continues to reverberate around the world.

Zelensky was heralded a hero by European Globalist forces who showed their real America-hating faces.

And in the US, the Trump administration is geared to make Zelensky regret his lack of manners and warmongering pretty soon.

Top adviser to Trump – and deeply involved in the Peace Negotiations with Russia – Mike Waltz said today (2) that the United States needs a leader in Kiev willing to secure a lasting peace with Russia.

And it is unclear that Zelensky would be prepared to do so.

Zelensky is unprepared to make peace with Russia.

    Reuters reported:

“Days after a contentious Oval Office exchange between Trump, Zelenskiy and Vice President JD Vance, White House national security adviser Mike Waltz said Washington wants to secure a permanent peace between Moscow and Kyiv that involves territorial concessions in exchange for European-led security guarantees.

Asked whether Trump wants Zelenskiy to resign, Waltz told CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ program: ‘We need a leader that can deal with us, eventually deal with the Russians and end this war’.

‘If it becomes apparent that President Zelenskiy’s either personal motivations or political motivations are divergent from ending the fighting in his country, then I think we have a real issue on our hands’, Waltz added.”

We transcribed below some of the most relevant bits from Waltz’s interview.

Team Trump surprised by Zelensky demeanor:

“What was so, I think, stunning to all of us in the Oval Office was that it was not clear Zelensky was going to go to negotiations at all, that he would ever be able to negotiate with Putin and whether he shared our goal of ending this war.

[…] But what we made clear was that could not proceed at least for now. And President Trump said in his announcement on X, when President Zelensky is ready to truly engage for peace, he’s welcome back anytime.

[…] And further, coming to the Oval Office, with the body language, the shaking of head, the arms crossed, we found it incredibly disrespectful. We were ready to sign that deal. I want to address directly that this was some type of ambush is absolutely false.”

About Waltz having called Zelensky ‘Churchill’ in the beginning of the war:

“But Churchill was also voted out of office in 1945. He was a man for a moment, but he did not then transition England into the next phase. And it’s unclear whether President Zelensky, particularly after what we saw Friday, is ready to transition to Ukraine to an end to this war and to negotiate and have to compromise.”

About the potential need for Zelensky to resign or be replaced:

“We need a leader that can deal with us, eventually deal with the Russians and end this war.

And if it becomes apparent that President Zelensky’s either personal motivations or political motivations are divergent from ending the fighting in his country, then I think we have a real issue on our hands.

[…} Let’s ask ourselves, what is this war going to look like a year from now? The patience of the American people to keep giving billions and billions and billions with no end in sight is not unlimited. And we also made that clear to President Zelensky at the end of that meeting.”

About negotiating end to embassy restriction and other issues with Russia:

“If we’re going to drive these negotiations forward, our embassies have to be operable.

[…] We’re also having conversations about how they will end and what they need to see to end this war. There will obviously be differences on all sides, and the United States, through shuttle diplomacy and the leadership of President Trump, will drive forward to bridge those gaps. “
