    Re: “Trump ventures deeper into anti-immigrant language by calling people from Somalia ‘garbage’ ” (Dec. 4, Nation):

    My grandparents were not garbage and neither are Somalis or any immigrants.

    My Kostecka grandparents were poor serfs who came from Czarist Russia. They were not garbage.

    My Rizzuto grandfather came from southern Italy because he was starving. He was not garbage.

    For a president to call Somali immigrants garbage and to have cabinet members applaud is embarrassing. How much lower can this administration go?
