A newborn baby girl was discovered abandoned on the stairs of a Midtown Manhattan subway station on Monday morning, and a three- or four-month-old baby boy was found at a Bronx Dunkin Donuts on Tuesday.

The infant found at the subway station, with her umbilical cord still attached, was found awake and alert.

Authorities quickly responded, and the baby was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition.

The discovery occurred around 9:30 a.m. at the 34th Street-Penn Station stop, specifically at the bottom of the stairs leading to the southbound 1, 2, and 3 trains.

A witness spotted the child wrapped in a sheet and immediately called 911, prompting first responders to arrive and transport her to the hospital.

The New York Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident and is reviewing surveillance footage from the area to identify who may have left the baby behind.

The NYPD released surveillance footage on Tuesday of a woman believed to be the mother of the infant.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no arrests had been made, and the circumstances surrounding the abandonment remain unknown.

BREAKING: Police have released footage of the woman who abandoned her newborn baby in the NYC subway with the umbilical cord still attached.

Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help identify her. Tips can be submitted anonymously to the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or via their website at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org.

Shockingly, a second infant was found abandoned in a New York City Dunkin’ Donuts on Tuesday morning, just one day after the subway incident.

    The New York Post reports:

The 3- to 4-month-old boy was “conscious and alert” when he was found in a stroller inside the coffee shop at 1791 Westchester Ave. in the Bronx around 8 a.m., police said.

The infant was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, cops said.

The mother later returned to the Dunkin’ for her baby and was headed to the police precinct, sources said.

    No arrests have been made.

New York’s Safe Haven law allows mothers to legally surrender an unharmed newborn up to 30 days old at designated locations like hospitals, fire stations, or police precincts without facing charges.

However, abandoning a child in a public space like a subway station or a Dunkin’ Donuts is not covered under the law, as it obviously endangers the baby’s life.
