Another action-packed day of preseason NFL football is in the books.
As position battles heat up and players make a final push to avoid next weekend’s dreaded roster cuts, here are the best and worst things we saw in Saturday’s preseason Week 2 games.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Jack Strand | The Atlanta Falcons received good news Saturday afternoon when quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was cleared to resume full team activities.
The 2024 first-round pick still has a chance to earn the starting job entering Week 1, although after Saturday, it could be tough for him to catch Strand.
Okay, okay. We’re getting ahead of ourselves. The former D-II quarterback and 2026 undrafted free agent may not even make the 53-man roster, but Strand (12-of-17, 212 yards, two total touchdowns) still delivered the best performance by a Falcons quarterback this summer in a win over the Indianapolis Colts.
At least now Penix and Tagovailoa know what head coach Kevin Stefanski’s offense should look like.
