Just days after completing her record-breaking “Cowboy Carter” tour, Beyoncé is adding another major award to her trophy case.

On August 12, 2025, the Television Academy announced its winners for the 77th Emmy Awards in juried categories, and Beyoncé’s Netflix special, dubbed the “Beyoncé Bowl,” secured the singer her first Emmy win ever.

Although the main Emmy Awards ceremonies are still weeks away, several juried winners were announced today.

According to Variety, the juried categories honor excellence in “animation, costume, emerging media programming, and motion design.”

Beyoncé secured her first Emmy for Outstanding Costumes For A Variety, Nonfiction, Or Reality Program for her NFL Christmas Day Halftime show, “Beyoncé Bowl,” which is available as a standalone special on Netflix.

The “JOLENE” singer won the Outstanding Costumes Emmy alongside a team of others, including Shiona Turini, Erica Rice, Molly Peters, Chelsea Staebell, and Timothy White.

Following the “Beyoncé Bowl,” which was streamed by more than 27 million people on Christmas Day, Turini spoke with Harper’s Bazaar about the special performance and revealed the team’s intentions behind the costumes.

“This show was a reclamation of space as well as a visual love letter to Black cowboys, country-music icons, Texas legends, and Black culture,” she said, later explaining that the wardrobe had many different layers to reference the themes in the album.

Turini also discussed the decision to make the primary color white, sharing that it’s “deeply spiritual” and has ties to generations of “Black, indigenous, and Latin cultures.”

Throughout the interview, Turini emphasized that every piece of the show’s costuming had a specific purpose and meaning.

“The conversations were always evolving. The furry chaps on the dancers were definitely a nod to Black cowboys, the studded Levi’s jeans, that incredible image of Linda Martell [from Ebony magazine] sitting on the fence. It was about exploring what it means to be Black in the Western space and paying homage,” she said.

Beyoncé’s most recent accolade comes weeks after the showstopper finished her record-breaking “Cowboy Carter” tour, which stopped in cities such as Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and parts of Europe.

Throughout the show’s run, Queen Bey set several box office records, including pulling in over $39.7 million during her three-night run at the Stade de France in Paris. But that wasn’t all that Beyoncé had to celebrate by the conclusion of the tour.

After wrapping up the 32-night extravaganza, the tour officially became the highest-grossing country tour of all time with a total gross of $407.6 million, according to a previous report from The Blast.

And although the “Cowboy Carter” tour experienced many highs, Beyoncé still encountered a bit of trouble toward the end of the run.

According to a previous report, the singer’s longtime choreographer and dancer were robbed in Atlanta, Georgia, while eating at a restaurant at the Krog Street Market.

The report explained that after returning to their Jeep following their meal, Christopher Grant and Diandre Blue noticed the back window had been smashed and their property had been stolen.

Critical items, including laptops and hard drives that contained Beyoncé’s unreleased music and future tour setlists, were among the missing items.

During another show, the mother of three experienced a frightening technical issue when the red convertible she was sitting in, which flew across the stadium, began to tilt mid-air.

“Stop, stop, stop,” she said in the middle of a song before instructing her team to lower her down.

Concerned fans rushed to social media to share their reactions, prompting Beyoncé’s team to issue a statement.

“Tonight in Houston, at NRG Stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop Beyoncé uses to circle the stadium and see her fans up close, to tilt,” the statement read. “She was quickly lowered, and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.”
