In an Instagram post, Willis’ wife, Emma, shared a touching video of the beloved actor and their daughter, Evelyn.

In the clip, Willis can be seen strolling through Manhattan with young Evelyn perched happily on his shoulders.

During the outing, the “Die Hard” actor joked with his daughter, saying, “I don’t have to chew on your leg,” prompting Evelyn to laugh as she pressed her small hands against her dad’s face.

Emma captioned the sweet video with a short message: “The best seat in the house.”

The heartwarming clip likely dates back to around 2019, several years before Willis was diagnosed with aphasia, which eventually advanced to frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

The heartwarming video comes after Emma and co-author Michele Levy Bender submitted the first draft of their upcoming 2025 book, created as a guide for fellow caregivers of FTD patients.

“It’s the book that I wish I had been handed when we got the FTD diagnosis. I wish I had heard from someone, like, ‘I know this feels horrible and very traumatic, but you’re going to be okay,'” Emma shared.

Reflecting on her journey, the Make Time Wellness co-founder continued, “We had so many plans, so many beautiful things we wanted to do with our girls, so many things that we wanted to experience together.”

“You just rip that page out completely, and then how do you rewrite the story? I’m learning how to take some control back,” Emma added.

In her recent Town & Country magazine cover story, Emma shared her approach to discussing her husband’s condition with their children.

“I’ve never tried to sugarcoat anything for them,” she explained. “They’ve grown up with Bruce declining over the years. I’m not trying to shield them from it.”

The FTD advocate reflected on the guidance she received from a therapist: “What I learned from our therapist was that if children ask questions, they’re ready to know the answer.”

She added, “If we could see that Bruce was struggling, I would address it with the kids so they could understand, but this disease is chronic, progressive, and terminal.”

In Emma’s interview with the publication, she noted that she and Willis’ kids know that their father isn’t going to recover from his disease.

The former model said, “There is no cure. Obviously, I don’t like to speak about the terminal side of this with them, nor have they asked. They know that Daddy’s not going to get better.”

Emma, however, expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support of her blended family, including Bruce’s daughter, Rumer, and his ex-wife of 11 years, Demi Moore.

“They’re very supportive, very loving, and very helpful, and a lot of people don’t have that,” Emma said. “The family respects the way I’m looking after him; they really support me.”

She continued, “If I need to vent, if I need to cry, if I need to rage — because all of that can happen, and it’s okay to have those feelings — they are always there to listen.”
