The “This Is Us” star turned heads in Nashville at Variety’s Power of Women event, showing off her stunning 100-pound weight loss in a flirty pastel mini dress.

As seen in photos obtained by Daily Mail, the 44-year-old actress rocked a spring-ready pink, blue, and yellow frock with a ruffled V-neckline, pairing it with white cowboy boots and soft waves cascading down her shoulders. The glam was on point too, with peachy-pink makeup tones perfectly accentuating her glow.

In a recent interview with Daily Mail, Metz revealed her health and fitness secret: strength training.

“I have always enjoyed strength training. I’ve always enjoyed lifting weights,” she shared. As for cardio? Not her thing. “I don’t want to run unless I’m being chased,” she joked.

Metz said her personal trainer, who has undergone a weight loss journey himself, helps her stay motivated in a way that feels encouraging rather than harsh. “We have things in common where it’s not just like, ‘Why are you doing this?’ Like, I don’t want to be yelled at. I want to be lovingly supported in whatever it is that I’m doing.”

What’s driving her newfound dedication? It’s not just aesthetics, it’s longevity. “I want to age the best way that I can, and I want to be strong,” she emphasized. “I’m literally doing it because I am nervous about aging, about osteoporosis or arthritis.”

While the actress didn’t take a firm stance on weight loss aids like Ozempic, she stressed it’s a personal decision: “If you’re not hurting anybody, and you’re not hurting yourself, you should do what you feel is right for your body or your mind or whatever.”

But behind the glow-up is a much deeper story of resilience.

“He would weigh me in the kitchen or threaten to lock the cupboards,” she revealed. The cruel treatment left her feeling deeply unworthy. “Why does my weight equate to my worthiness, or why does it bother him so much?” she recalled wondering.

Metz shared that at just 12 years old, she struggled to process being treated differently than other children. “Kids’ job is to be loved, and some parents don’t have that capacity, unfortunately.”

She didn’t hold back about the long-lasting toll it’s taken.

“Definitely mental, physical, emotional abuse, for sure,” she said. “While you’re going through puberty and you look like none of your other friends… you can’t fit into any of the cute Wet Seal clothes.”

While she acknowledges the physical abuse was “not great,” it was the emotional scars that ran deepest.

“They’re like little nicks, little cuts and eventually you bleed out. It is painful,” she admitted. “I think I’m trying to heal those wounds slowly but surely… The root of it is like, ‘I’m unworthy.’”

Although the abuse happened years ago, she continues to cope with its impact well into adulthood.

“Now, as an adult, I’m like, ‘OK, maybe, he actually loved me [and] didn’t know how to express it’ and did it in such a difficult way that he thought he was being helpful. He doesn’t want me to be unhealthy or he doesn’t want me to be a certain way,” she said. “Also, hurt people hurt people and he was I think very hurt by his own father. These are only things I can say now because I’ve gone to therapy and like I’ve processed feelings.”
