Is Daisy Ridley okay? That’s what “Star Wars” fans are wondering after logging into Instagram on October 15 and finding that most of her posts are missing. The “Star Wars” alum, who portrayed Rey in the sequel trilogy, was supposed to make a return to the franchise in a movie about the New Jedi Order. However, little has been revealed about the project since its announcement, leaving fans wondering if the sudden change is linked to a galaxy far, far away.
Daisy Ridley Deletes Her Instagram Page Except For One Video
At the time of this writing, only one video remains on Daisy Ridley’s Instagram page. It’s a collaborative post with Letterboxd featuring an exclusive clip from the movie “Magpie.” The post is dated October 21, 2024.
“Magpie will open in NY, LA and additional cities on October 25 and on digital November 12 via @shout_studios; in the UK, premieres at @fightfestuk on November 1 and on digital November 11 from @signatureentertainmentuk,” the post reads.
Comments on the post are still active. The most recent comment came a few hours ago. One fan left a single red heart emoji and wrote nothing else.
Fans Take To Twitter To Share Their Concerns
“Star Wars” fans took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to inquire about her sudden absence from Instagram.
“Randomly went on Daisy’s Instagram and tell me why there are no posts,” one fan commented.
“Daisy Ridley has deleted all her posts. Did someone touch her, hurt her? I demand to know!!!” another follower wrote.
“So… Daisy Ridley is basically deleting her IG account, her SW film is cancelled/deleted year by year with no news at all, she had filmed almost nothing over a whole year, hidden from literally everything/everyone, then, what else can we expect? Being her fan has become crippling,” a third fan chimed in.
“Guess she’s not ready to take the heat for Ebenezer,” another follower shared.
Ridley’s next role will be in “Ebenezer,” adapted from “A Christmas Carol.” The film, directed by Ti West, also features a strong cast of Rupert Grint, Ian McKellen, Sam Claflin, and Johnny Depp as the titular star. The film has been called out for its “humiliating bad” tagline, but it won’t hit theaters until November 13.
This Isn’t The First Time Daisy Ridley Quit Instagram
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the “Young Woman and the Sea” actress has quit Instagram. She removed herself from the platform entirely in August 2016 following cyberbullying over a post she made about gun violence.
In September 2016, she told Sky that it wasn’t the only reason that she left the platform.
“I felt a pressure being on it,” she said. “I was like ‘I need to post. Oh my God, it’s been this many days’. It’s actually been kind of nice not to be on it. I’m 24. I have a lot of growing up to do. I have to deal with loads of stuff myself personally. For that to be projected with millions of people watching, that is like a bit of an extra pressure.”
“I think some people handle it well,” she added. “Just right now it’s not for me, but who knows.”
Inside The Uncertain Future Of ‘Star Wars’

Right now, Rey’s role in a galaxy far, far away remains unclear. She may appear in Shawn Levy’s “Star Wars: Starfighter,” starring Ryan Gosling. The film, scheduled for a May 2027 theatrical release, will be the first film to take place after the events of “The Rise of Skywalker.”
Little has been announced about the future of Rey’s New Jedi Order movie after cycling through several writers. Simon Kinberg is currently writing a new trilogy, widely believed to be the next chapter in the Skywalker Saga. It remains to be seen what role Rey will play, or whether the trilogy will focus on a brand new cast of characters. Jon Watts has been tapped to direct.
Although it’s unclear if Ridley will ever return to a galaxy far, far away, she has been keeping her Jedi skills sharp. Last month, she revealed that she suffered a neck and back injury that left fans wishing her a speedy recovery.
