Denny bus lane: ‘A big mistake’

Re: “Mayor Wilson pledges more shelter and a Denny bus lane in first action” (Jan. 16, Northwest):

Mayor Katie Wilson’s executive order, creating a dedicated bus lane along Denny Way, is a big mistake. It will cause massive, all-day backups on this vital corridor, which is already congested most of the day. There will be no way that the Seattle Department of Transportation can mitigate this problem, because Denny will be down to one lane for motorists.

Wilson is catering to transit activists, which is no surprise because she was one of them. Some question that the city has a “war on cars,” but this order is a prime example that this is, in fact, a reality.

    Bob Knudson, Seattle
