Singer Dierks Bentley has shared an intimate detail about his marriage to his wife, Cassidy Black.

According to the country music star, he no longer sleeps with Black on the same bed because of his unusual sleeping habits.

Dierks Bentley has been married to Cassidy Black for two decades, and previously talked about going all out for their upcoming anniversary in December.

During his appearance on the “Bobbycast” podcast, Bentley opened up about his unusual sleeping arrangement with his wife of 20 years, Cassidy Black.

Although their marriage has endured for decades, the couple no longer shares the same bed, a situation he attributes to their very different sleeping habits.

“I’m the world’s most horrible sleeper,” Bentley explained about the decision, per US Weekly. “My wife will be like, ‘How’d you sleep last night?’ And we don’t sleep in the same room right now anymore.”

Speaking further about it, the country singer said he has “to be positioned exactly the correct way” while his wife easily goes off to sleep.

“I’m just thinking about the process of getting to fall asleep, and all of a sudden she’ll jerk,” he revealed. “I’m like, ‘You gotta be kidding me. You’re already out?’ She’s already asleep like that. And so, she’ll move a tiny bit, I feel it.”

At first, Bentley and Black began sleeping in separate beds within the same room after they grew tired of sharing their bed.

“I decided to separate church and state, and I got rid of our bed and I’ve got two platform beds and two box springs and two mattresses,” Bentley recalled the changes he made at the time.

Not only did they sleep in separate beds, but the beds were also designed in a specific way that allowed Bentley to keep more distance between them.

“You can see the floor between her bed and mine,” he noted, “So it’s like independent suspension.”

Bentley continued, “Why would you have a truck with leaf springs when you can have independent suspension? So she can move around all she wants. And if you feel like you really need extra sleep, you can kind of push her bed a little further over.”

Even with separate beds, Bentley’s restless sleeping still left his wife uncomfortable, leading her to move to the couch before eventually settling into a spare room in their home.”

“Lately, she’s like, because I’m just such an animal, it’s terrible. She’s like, she’s sleeping on the couch now,” the singer revealed. “She’s like, there’s an extra room we have, and she just so goes to sleep in there.

However, Bentley admits the arrangement isn’t ideal for their marriage, and says he and his wife plan to return to sharing the same room once he is off the road.

In preparation to switch back to sleeping together, Bentley has already begun making changes to his room to ensure it’s more comfortable for Black.

He said, “We’ve never had a TV in our bedroom, just put one in. I have my dad’s old recliner over there that my mom didn’t want. So it’s a nice health and wellness setup we got going on.”

The singer concluded, “So we’re going to try to move her back in this year. It’s a big plan.”

Come December, Bentley and his wife, Black, will mark 20 years of marriage, a milestone made richer by their three children, daughters Evalyn Day and Jordan Catherine, and son Knox.

“It’s an amazing life we’ve built together, and we need to do something big,” Bentley told People Magazine in May. “It’s been a great 20 years, and [Cassidy is] just really an incredible person.”

Despite his hectic schedule, the country star is determined to make their upcoming anniversary truly “special” for the two of them.

Though he didn’t reveal specific details, the “Gone” singer hinted that the celebration would likely include some kind of adventure that would involve their kids.
