If there’s anyone who knows how to throw the ultimate Super Bowl party, it’s Donna Kelce, better known as Mama Kelce.

As the proud mother of retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelceand Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Donna has spent years perfecting the art of game-day celebrations. She made history in 2023 when she watched her two sons face off in Super Bowl LVII, the first time brothers played against each other on opposing teams in the championship.

Now, as Travis Kelce heads to another Super Bowl, Donna Kelce is again in the spotlight, this time for her legendary seven-layer dip, a game-day staple she’s been bringing to tailgates for years.

Seven-layer dip has long been a football party favorite, and Donna Kelce’s version puts a unique twist on the classic recipe. In an interview with Allrecipes, she revealed that she originally followed a traditional method, blending mayonnaise with sour cream and taco seasoning to create a creamy base.

However, there was one small issue. Travis Kelce absolutely hates mayo.

To keep her famous dip Travis-approved, Donna swapped out the mayo-based layer for something with a bit more kick: Heluva Good! Jalapeño Cheddar Dip. The swap not only pleased her son but also gave the dip an extra layer of flavor that makes it a true game-day standout.

The other six layers of this Super Bowl-ready masterpiece include jalapeños, pico de Gallo, refried beans, black olives, sliced avocado, and shredded cheese. All stacked together and scooped up with tortilla chips, this dip offers the perfect balance of spice, creaminess, and crunch, making it the real MVP of any football party spread.

When it comes to Super Bowl Sunday, Travis and Jason Kelce don’t just bring the heat on the field. They also know how to enjoy the ultimate game-day feast, complete with their favorite snacks and party foods.

“They always loved dips,” Donna said. “Definitely a Tex Mex dip or something with a little bit of kick. Barbecued chicken, a lot of chips, [and] a lot of little finger foods.”

    1. Dice the avocados and toss them with fresh lime juice to prevent browning. Add a pinch of salt for flavor and set them aside until it’s time to assemble the dip.
    2. Evenly spread the refried beans across the bottom of your serving dish. (For a visually appealing presentation, Donna prefers using a clear glass dish to showcase the layers.) Next, scoop about 3 tablespoons of Heluva Good! Jalapeño Cheddar Dip into a resealable plastic bag and set it aside for later. Spread the remaining dip evenly over the refried beans to create the next layer.
    3. Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded cheese over the dip.
    4. Then, top with the avocado-lime juice mixture. For a smoother consistency, consider mashing the avocado slightly, giving it more of a guacamole texture.
    5. Drain any excess liquid from the pico de gallo before adding it on top of the avocado layer.
    6. Snip the tip off the plastic bag containing the reserved Heluva Good! Jalapeño Cheddar Dip and drizzle it over the pico de gallo in a zigzag pattern.
    7. Top off with sliced jalapeños and black olives.
