Eagles star addresses potential retirement after Super Bowl

Philadelphia Eagles star right tackle Lane Johnson has no plans for Super Bowl LIX to be his final game in the NFL. He went as far as to say he is definitely not retiring following the game, whether the Eagles win or lose the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 34-year-old Johnson was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and has been a key part of the Eagles’ offense ever since. Along with being a core player for the Eagles, he has also been one of the best tackles in football, earning two first-team All-Pro nods in his career. Along with a Super Bowl title with the Eagles in 2017, he has put together a Hall of Fame career. This will also be his third Super Bowl with the Eagles.

The Eagles already lost one mainstay on their offensive line to retirement a year ago when long-time center Jason Kelce retired.

A Super Bowl win next would seem like a great opportunity for Johnson to go out on top and at the highest moment, but he seems to still have a desire to be on the field.

That is good news for the Eagles as a whole and for players like quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley who benefit greatly from Johnson’s dominance on the line.
