    Homelessness: ‘Discredited politics run rampant’

Re: “Seattle’s homelessness response in peril as Trump aims at ‘Housing First’ ” (Nov. 17, Project Homeless):

Again totally disregarding evidence-based facts, the Trump regime goes against all that we know that works for getting so many homeless people out of despair and into a future that can work for them: A roof over their head and a place of their own. I meet every day once “normal” people who, being unhoused, have turned to self medicating to ease their situation. Drugs? Alcohol? Those of us with housing do it constantly behind closed doors.

Like the Trump regime’s attack on immunization, homeless-repair evidence has no weight. Climate-change tied evidence has no weight. Help for those struggling with poverty apparently has no weight. Discredited politics run rampant.

These federal cuts for housing are going to make Seattle’s homeless situation much worse.

    Judith Hansen, Seattle
