Jayden Daniels reveals interesting feelings about Eagles fans

Supporters of the Philadelphia Eagles who attend Eagles home games have a reputation for being some of the rowdiest fans in the NFL who often make things difficult for opposing players.

When healthy, Washington Commanders starting quarterback Jayden Daniels is guaranteed to play at least one game at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field per season since the Commanders and Eagles are both part of the NFC East. During a recent conversation with Sports Illustrated, Daniels shared an opinion of Eagles fans that may surprise some outsiders. Commanders QB Jayden Daniels has love for Eagles fans

“I love Eagles fans,” Daniels admitted, per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “I love Eagles fans. They just embody what Philly brings. To be able to go out there and play against them, it’s kind of just that thing. Their environment is kind of like the closest thing you can get to a college environment.”

Los Angeles Rams pass-rusher Jared Verse and Kayvon Thibodeaux of the New York Giants are among noteworthy players who have voiced opinions about Eagles fans that differ from Daniels’. For years, Giants legend Eli Manning has spoken about the “amount of double birds” he would see whenever he would play road games in Philadelphia.

That said, star San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle said this past January that he appreciates the atmosphere Eagles fans create during games held at “The Linc.” During his chat with SI, Daniels insisted that Philadelphia supporters “for sure” give him more fuel to want to play well during divisional contests.

What earning road wins at the Eagles means to Jayden Daniels

“If you go out there, you can beat Philly in Philly, that’s a different type, but their fans bring it,” Daniels added. “Especially as we’re rivals within the NFC East. I love playing against them.”

Daniels made just seven starts for the Commanders this past season before he was shut down after he aggravated a previously suffered elbow injury. While the full NFL schedule won’t be released until later this spring, it sounds like Daniels is ready to circle the next Washington-at-Philadelphia date on his calendar.
