Jennifer Garner ‘Afraid’ Of Rekindling Romance With Ben Affleck

Rumors have been swirling about ex-spouses Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck after they were pictured sharing an intimate moment while on a paintball outing with their children.

However, sources have shared how Garner truly feels about the issue, explaining that she’s “deathly afraid” of falling back in love with the actor as she still has “trust issues” after their failed marriage.

Jennifer Garner’s time with Ben Affleck has also seemingly gotten to her boyfriend John Miller, and he wants her to take a “step back” from her ex-husband.

Garner and Affleck set tongues wagging about their relationship after they were spotted cozying up to each other at a family event, with the Oscar winner holding Garner in an intimate hug.

However, it appears that the “Elektra” actress is not so keen about restarting a romance with her ex-husband.

A source told the Daily Mail that Garner is “deathly afraid of falling back in love” with Affleck because she still has “trust issues” from their broken marriage after he allegedly slept with their children’s nanny, Christine Ouzounian.

“She loves Ben but is worried that he will crush her all over again,” the insider claimed. “She doesn’t want to heal another broken heart because it is just too much drama, plus she does not want their kids to see round two of their mom in a bad place with their dad.”

“So much could go wrong if they reunite,” they added.

Affleck and Garner wed in 2005 and welcomed three children together, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, before announcing their split in 2015.

In an interview with Vanity Fair the following year, she detailed how she was “tender” following the breakdown of their marriage and how Affleck’s romance with the nanny “hurt” her.

“It was a real marriage,” she said. “It wasn’t for the cameras. And it was a huge priority for me to stay in it. And that did not work.”

At the time, she clamored for people not to be too hard on the “Gone Girl” actor but was heartbroken from the incident.

“I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him,” she said. “And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had.”

“He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow,” Garner added at the time.

According to People Magazine, sources close to Ouzounian confirmed in 2015 that the nanny had been telling her friends that she and Affleck were having an affair.

At the time, one of Ouzounian’s friends noted that “Christine is in love with [Affleck].”

The insiders shared more information about the pair’s relationship with the news outlet, as another friend claimed that Ouzonian showed her photos of her sitting on the actor’s lap and another of the two of them kissing.

“For Christine, it was a relationship,” a source stated. “A friend warned her she was going to end up heartbroken.”

Affleck has, however, denied the rumors with a rep for the star slamming the affair reports as “complete garbage and full of lies.”

The rep added that Affleck and Ouzounian had “a work relationship and a friendship. There has never been a romantic or sexual relationship.”

Meanwhile, Affleck would seemingly relish having another romantic stint with his ex-wife if the “timing is right.”

A source told Page Six that the 52-year-old star “would definitely be open to giving things another shot with Jen if the timing is ever right.”

“At the same time, Ben knows it’s just not realistic at this time in their lives,” the source explained. “Ben just got out of a marriage and finalized his divorce [from Jennifer Lopez], he is really busy with work and is focused on this new chapter.”

“Plus, Ben respects Jen’s relationship with John [Miller] and would never come between them,” they added.

Another source told the news outlet, “The feeling is not mutual on Jen’s side. She’s happy with John, and that’s just not where her head is at. She has a great co-parenting relationship with Ben, and that’s where things stand on her end at the moment.”

Garner’s on-and-off boyfriend John Miller is seemingly disturbed by her close ties with her ex-husband and wants her to take a “step back” from him.

Garner has not been seen with Miller since February 20 but has been spotted on several occasions with Affleck, including a recent event where they took their youngest children for paintballing.

The Cali Group CEO reportedly hopes she’ll reconsider her closeness with Affleck now that his divorce from Lopez has been finalized. Miller is believed to respect Affleck and understands that they have children together but doesn’t like to share his girlfriend.

“John is trying to deal with Ben and Jen’s relationship by mostly staying quiet, but it’s very hard to do that,” a source told the Daily Mail. “He knows that Ben has to be around as a father and he is more than OK with that, but he wants to be the man in the relationship.”

“John only talks about Ben when Jen talks about Ben or when their kids talk about him. He doesn’t bring him up unprompted,” the source said.
