Joe Jonas Reportedly Hurt By Sophie Turner’s Birthday Post For Her BF

Joe Jonas reportedly feels uneasy about his ex-wife Sophie Turner‘s recent public display of affection for her new boyfriend, Peregrine Pearson.

According to a source, the actress’s elaborate birthday tribute to Pearson made Jonas uncomfortable, as he felt it was a “slap in the face” as it came so soon after their divorce.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner went their separate ways in September 2023 after the singer filed for divorce from her as their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

According to the Daily Mail, a source close to the singer has disclosed that he was left reeling due to the “over the top” birthday tribute his ex-wife Turner made for her new boyfriend, Peregrine Pearson.

Jonas allegedly felt the “Game of Thrones” star intentionally rubbed salt in the wound of their broken marriage with the post in which she described Pearson as her “angel pie,” especially because it’s coming so soon after their divorce was finalized.

“Joe feels like Sophie’s over the top birthday love post for Peregrine ‘her angel’ is a slap in the face considering she’s been with him since the moment Joe filed for divorce,” the singer’s friends told the news outlet.

“Everyone can see it for what it is now. He will always be a present and involved father, but it’s only been a month since they finalized,” they continued. “It’s strange that she went and twisted the knife by sharing how much she loves her new man so publicly like this.”

Turner’s post comes barely a month after her divorce from Jonas was finalized. In her sweet Instagram tribute to Pearson, she shared a couple of snaps in which they can be seen kissing and being loved up.

Other photos showed the pair cozied up together on a canal boat, posing on a hot air balloon and skiing. Another shot featured Turner sitting on Pearson’s lap with a bottle of beer in hand.

“Happy Birthday my angel pie, 30, flirty and thriving,” she captioned the post.

Since going public with their romance, Turner and Pearson have been spotted flaunting their relationship with some serious PDA.

According to the Daily Mail, another source shared that Jonas expects Turner to make him look or feel bad in the foreseeable future.

“Joe anticipates more pettiness from Sophie as he almost expects her to do something or say something to try to make him feel bad,” they said. “Joe is trying to play it off as it comes and not get into it, as it will ultimately turn against him if he reacts. He wants to continue to be the bigger man.”

They continued, “Joe never wanted to be without the mother of his children, but unfortunately, that wasn’t possible. He wants to be a great dad and hopes that they can eventually get to a place where it isn’t one ordeal after another.”

Jonas filed for divorce from the 28-year-old actress on September 5, 2023, after being married for 4 years and sharing two kids.

At the time, the duo also opened up about their split in a joint statement shared on Instagram.

“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” the statement read. “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

They have since reached a settlement in the proceeding as a judge allowed them to waive the 20-day waiting period for final judgment, saying, “The marriage between the parties is dissolved, and the parties are restored to the status of being single.”

The document also noted that the agreement to dissolve their marriage is “in the best interests of the parties and this family,” although details about it were kept under wraps.

After Jonas filed for divorce from Turner, the actress responded that the “breakdown of her marriage” to the singer “happened very suddenly.”

The two had been married for four years and seemed to be a happy couple outwardly. However, they appeared to have more than their fair share of arguments at home.

One such argument occurred last year on August 15, Jonas’s 34th birthday. Barely a month later, the singer filed for divorce.

According to a report, Turner alleged at the time that she did not get notice of the divorce, claiming in her filing that she “found out through the media.”
