Katy Perry is reportedly taking a mindful approach to her new chapter with Justin Trudeau, embracing the present while they keep things out of the spotlight.

Just a month after ending her nearly nine-year relationship and six-year engagement to Orlando Bloom, the “Roar” singer spent time with the former Canadian Prime Minister, fueling talk of a budding romance.

However, another insider painted a different picture of the pair’s dynamic, noting that the “Fireworks” singer “isn’t serious” about the relationship at the moment, as she’s heavily focused on her “Lifetimes” tour.

Despite the 40-year-old’s packed schedule, Trudeau is arranging to hang out with her during a brief break before she heads into the European leg of her tour on October 4. 

According to the tipster, the “I Kissed a Girl” singer remains receptive to romance but prefers to keep things in the present. “Katy is taking it day by day but is very open to dating,” they shared with US Magazine.

Perry and Trudeau’s reported relationship status comes almost two months after they first sparked dating rumors, when the songwriter was in Canada for her show.

As The Blast previously reported, the duo visited the Le Violon in Montreal, accompanied by security guards who were reportedly stationed nearby, keeping close watch from behind mirrored glass.

The couple seemed to be enjoying their time as pictures capturing them showed the mom of one fully engaged in their conversation, frequently leaning in across the table as they chatted.

After their outing in Canada, Trudeau was allegedly eager for more time with the pop star, with sources noting she has truly caught his eye.

A former colleague who worked with the world leader during his time in office even admitted that Perry is very much his type.

“Justin always enjoys good company, and Katy is the kind of woman that really captured his attention,” the employee said, per sources, according to The Blast.

Another insider previously echoed a similar sentiment, describing their connection as a “breath of fresh air in his life” and noting Trudeau’s excitement about getting to know the pop star better.
