Although Hulk Hogan had a troubled past, which included a damning audio recording of him admitting to being “a little racist,” some of his peers are now rushing to defend his legacy.

During the latest episode of his podcast, “Kliq This,” actor and retired WWE wrestler Kevin Nash did just that, dismissing Hulk Hogan’s offensive language and slamming the late wrestler’s critics.

WWE Wrestler Kevin Nash Rushes To Defend Hulk Hogan’s Racist Past During New Podcast Episode

On the July 28 episode of his podcast, Nash reflected on Hogan’s legacy and took aim at critics who continue to reference the late wrestler’s controversial past.

“For the people that want to go after Hogan for doing this, doing that, doing this — how about f-ck you, man?” the “Living the Dream” actor said. “He’s dead.”

Nash continued and slammed Hogan’s detractors for drawing attention to Hogan’s previous scandals while his family was grieving.

“How about his kids, man? Can’t you just lay off the man?” he added.

Nash went on to say, “Ain’t nothing’s gonna change now. It’s sensationalism. It’s, ‘You know, I never like him anyway.’ Who gives a f-ck? I know he doesn’t. I know he didn’t.”

Later, Nash once again brought the conversation back to Hogan’s children, Brooke and Nick, and his widow, Sky Daily, whom he married in 2023.

“Think about his friends and family. If you don’t have nothing good to say, shut the f-ck up,” Nash finished.

Nash isn’t the only celebrity defending Hogan after his death, either.

Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport also shared a similar message during an episode of his podcast, telling his listeners that he wouldn’t tolerate the “disrespect” sent Hogan’s way. “That’s what we’re not going to do,” he said, adding, “We’re not going to be disrespecting Hulk Hogan.”

Rapaport went on to say, “I don’t care about his endorsing [Donald] Trump, I don’t care about the stuff that was controversial, we’re not going to be disrespecting the man with the 18-inch pythons.”

Nash and Rapaport’s comments come days after Hogan’s death and amid the onslaught of social media users shedding light on his previous controversies, one of which includes a racist rant from 2007.

In the transcript, which several news outlets have confirmed, Hogan expressed his disappointment with his daughter over her desire to date a Black man.

“I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f-ck some n-gger, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n-gger worth a hundred million dollars!” Hogan said, adding, “F-cking n-gger.”

Following the leak and subsequent public outrage, WWE terminated its contract with Hogan and issued a statement, declaring it was “committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers, and fans worldwide.”

Years later, however, WWE reinstated the wrestler into its Hall of Fame.

Hogan Was Booed Out Of The WWE Arena In January 2025

Despite WWE reconnecting with Hogan after severing its working relationship with him, Hogan returned to the WWE ring in January 2025 to speak about the company’s historic streaming partnership with Netflix, which was signed in 2024. However, upon his arrival inside the arena, Hogan was met with a resounding chorus of boos, prompting the wrestling champion to exit the building.

During an interview on “Sway’s Universe,” actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. revealed that he was one of the audience members who booed Hogan, later pointing to “the racism” as the reason for his actions.

“It’s just hard to forget how detailed that rant was,” he said. “If you look up his rant, it’s very detailed. I get a lot of people online who are like ‘well, he would be mad if he found out about that whole generation!’ Yeah, well, when I find out, I’ll be mad. But right now? Bringing him out here? What’d you think was gonna happen?”

In 2015, Hogan addressed the controversy and apologized to the public for using “offensive language” before calling his actions “unacceptable.”

“This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs, or otherwise,” Hogan further stated. “I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs.”
