Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout finally ended one of the longest home run droughts of his career on Friday. Trout launched a first-inning solo homer against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park, snapping a 27-game stretch without one.
The 35-year-old drove a full-count cutter from Nationals starter Cade Cavalli over the center-field wall to give the Angels a 1-0 lead. The blast marked his 21st home run and 52nd RBI of the 2026 season.
The three-time American League MVP had not homered since connecting against the Texas Rangers on Aug. 10. Trout’s 27-game drought ranked as the second-longest of his career, trailing only the 28-game power outage he endured late in the 2025 season.
Talkin’ Baseball took to X, formerly Twitter, and posted a clip of Trout ending the lengthy drought.
