Kari Lake, the Arizona Republican who has twice failed to secure a congressional office, is reportedly in the lead to become Donald Trump’s ambassador to Mexico.

The news, first broken by Semafor, has sent ripples of excitement given Lake’s firm stance on border security and her close alignment with Trump’s political ethos.

Semafor spoke with two people familiar with the situation, who indicated Lake was a leading candidate for the role.

“As US ambassador to Mexico,” they write, “Lake would be responsible for engaging with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s government on a host of contentious issues, including migration, counternarcotics, and Trump’s pledge to enact new tariffs on imports.”

The outlet also notes that Lake, as a polarizing figure in some circles, could only afford to lose three Republican votes during the confirmation process.

    Ambassador To Mexico, Kari Lake

Kari Lake’s advocates would see this as a strategic move by Trump to leverage her hardline stance on border issues, ensuring that America’s interests, particularly regarding immigration, are fiercely represented.

Her Senate campaign had been centered around securing the border, finishing the wall, and addressing what she has described as an “invasion” of illegal aliens. These positions resonate with President-elect Donald Trump’s own policies.

If appointed, Lake would be tasked with navigating the delicate balance between enforcing Trump’s policies and maintaining diplomatic relations with Mexico.

Especially under the leadership of President Claudia Sheinbaum, who might not share Lake’s views on immigration or Trump’s desire to implement tariffs.

Knows How To Stand Up To Pressure

Not only does she have the proper hardline approach to criminal immigration, but Kari Lake has the looks to be a successful ambassador to Mexico. Just ask Bill Clinton.

Clinton raised eyebrows as he was practically drooling over Lake while campaigning for her opponent. He complimented her by calling Lake “physically attractive” and wondered about her lying “prostrate before the master.”

Get that man a shock collar.

Lake’s background as a successful journalist and her ability to connect with people from all walks of life make her a respected and influential figure in the conservative movement.

As for strength, you don’t get much more of a titanium spine than turning down a bribe – even if that amount reached into the millions or “a billion” – from establishment Republicans because you feel saving America is more important.
