Reps For Diddy Deny He Was Busted With Homemade Alcohol In Jail

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs might be having a better first week in his new prison than many believed, as his legal reps recently shot down a report suggesting he was in hot water with Fort Dix prison guards after allegedly being found with homemade alcohol.

According to a previous report from The Blast, sources close to Diddy alleged that the disgraced rapper, who was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison after being convicted on prostitution charges, had gotten into a bit of trouble with prison guards at his New Jersey prison after being found with a banned substance.

The source claimed Diddy was found in possession of homemade alcohol, made from Fanta soda, sugar, and apples that inmates let ferment for two weeks. The alleged incident reportedly upset jail officials enough that they considered moving his cell but ultimately decided against it.

Diddy’s reported mishap with jail officials came just over a month after the rapper wrote to a New York City judge, claiming he was pursuing sobriety after being incarcerated since September 2024. In his letter, the “Making the Band” lead admitted he lost his way and got lost in the journey, which included “drugs and the excess.”

Later, in his four-page letter, Diddy claimed he had learned a lot behind bars and said he began taking steps to better himself. In addition to reading books, the father of seven revealed he’d been working with a therapist to gather the “tools and knowledge to deal with my past drug abuse and anger issues.”

Diddy’s camp didn’t let the rumors linger, quickly denying them with a post on the rapper’s X account. “The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false. His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family,” the post read.

Additionally, Diddy’s family spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, told TMZ that the “Finna Get Loose” performer has been focused on himself while behind bars.

“Mr. Combs is in his first week at FCI Fort Dix and is focused on adjusting, working on himself, and doing better each day. As with any high-profile individual in a new environment, there will be many rumors and exaggerated stories throughout his time there—most of them untrue. We ask that people give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth with grace and purpose,” Engelmayer said.

Diddy is currently serving his 50-month sentence in New Jersey after being transferred from MDC Brooklyn to Fort Dix. As previously reported by The Blast, the rapper’s team requested the transfer so he could “address drug and abuse issues” and “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”

Diddy’s relocation also came after his legal team shared with the judge during his sentencing that the rapper had been threatened with a shank while in the Brooklyn facility. His best friend, Charlucci Finney, revealed that someone had held the sharp device to his neck and that he could’ve been seriously injured or killed.

“He woke up with a knife to his throat,” Finney claimed. “I don’t know whether he fought him off or the guards came, I just know that it happened.”

“If this guy had wanted to harm him, Sean would have been harmed. It would only take a second to cut his throat with a weapon and kill him,” he said.
