Carson Hocevar was in the middle of another major accident during Saturday’s Bristol Night Race, but for once, it may not have been his fault.
While racing fellow Chase driver Ryan Blaney, Blaney cleared Hocevar and came up the track to block on the exit of turn — but Hocevar went low and necessitated a response from Blaney, who tried to block Hocevar entering turn 1.
That didn’t work out for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion, who spun off the front bumper of Hocevar and hit the outside wall hard. Blaney, who had one of the fastest cars of the night, is now sixth in the standings and 52 points back of leader Kyle Larson.
Blaney was understandably frustrated with Hocevar, saying in his interview with USA Network that he “got crashed”, and unlike many other drivers who got mad at Hocevar this year, he decided to do something about it.
