Scott Wolf Granted Custody After Sudden Legal Shake-Up

After a whirlwind few weeks of emotional court battles and psychiatric holds, Scott Wolf and Kelley Wolf have reached a surprising new custody agreement.

While the temporary restraining order has been dropped, Scott now holds sole physical custody of their three children, and Kelley’s parenting time will be closely supervised, at least for now.

Scott has taken a major step in his divorce from Kelley Wolf.

Just six weeks after filing, the “Party of Five” actor has officially dropped the temporary restraining order he was granted against his estranged wife, but not without significant new conditions.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE and signed by a Utah judge on July 19, Scott was awarded temporary sole physical custody of their three children, Jackson, 16; Miller, 12; and Lucy, 11.

Kelley, meanwhile, has been granted “liberal” supervised visitation, as well as three supervised calls with the children per week.

She may respond to any communication initiated by the kids, but all parenting time will require legal coordination.

The ultimate aim, as stated in the documents, is for Kelley to eventually regain unsupervised parenting time, pending cooperation and evaluation.

The new temporary agreement, signed on July 15, lays out strict boundaries for Scott Wolf and Kelley Wolf as they navigate post-separation parenting.

Both are forbidden from discussing adult issues, the divorce, or the other parent with their children.

They’re also prohibited from making disparaging comments or questioning the kids about time spent with the other parent.

A court-imposed social media gag order also forbids either party or third parties from posting about the children, each other, or the divorce.

Scott will retain exclusive use of their Park City home, though Kelley may use the space for supervised visits with prior agreement.

She is otherwise restricted from entering the property.

Scott will continue to manage the family’s marital finances under the new agreement, covering the household expenses.

He will temporarily provide Kelley with $10,000 per month for living costs, along with payment for her car, minimum credit card obligations, and certain attorney fees.

This arrangement may be revised pending further court decisions or mutual agreements.

These terms come after a volatile series of incidents involving Kelley, including two psychiatric holds in recent weeks that escalated concerns around her mental health and parenting readiness.

Court records show Kelley was first placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold on June 13 after allegedly trying to take the children out of the country.

Authorities cited “behavior sufficient for Kelley to be detained by law enforcement and subsequently placed on an involuntary psychiatric commitment” under California’s 5150 code, which is used for emergency mental health intervention.

Kelley later acknowledged the hold, saying, “It’s a critical intervention used to detain individuals who are considered a danger to themselves or others or are gravely disabled due to a mental disorder.”

A second 5150 hold followed on July 6, after an incident involving an alleged knife.

Kelley was hospitalized in a Salt Lake City treatment center for a week.

The court hearing initially scheduled for July 21 regarding the restraining order has now been canceled as part of the temporary resolution.
