Scottie Scheffler hasn’t teed it up on the PGA Tour since the final round of the 3M Open on July 26, but that didn’t stop him from cashing his biggest check of the season this week. Ahead of the first leg of the playoffs, the World No. 1 banked $10 million for finishing the regular season in first place in the FedEx Cup standings.
Scheffler has now topped the regular season standings in four of the last five seasons. Add in the $108.7 million he’s banked in on-course earnings over that span, and Scheffler is in the midst of the most lucrative financial run in professional golf history.
Thanks to his win at The American Express and his 11 top-five finishes this year, Scheffler finished the regular season with 4,123 FedEx Cup points. Matt Fitzpatrick, who finished in second place, has only 3,329 points. Despite the lack of wins, it was still another dominant season for the best golfer on the planet.
Here’s how the rest of the top 10 shook out:
1. Scottie Scheffler: $10 million
2. Matt Fitzpatrick: $4 million
3. Cameron Young: $1.2 million
4. Wyndham Clark: $1 million
5. Chris Gotterup: $800,000
6. Collin Morikawa: $700,000

8. Sam Burns: $600,000
