Tarik Skubal makes more history in dominant performance

Something that should surprise no one at this point, ace Tarik Skubal led the Detroit Tigers to a win on Sunday. In a game that Detroit only managed to score three times, Skubal’s latest gem sparked the Tigers’ 3-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins as they claimed their weekend series.

Rebounding from a bit of an “off” performance that saw Skubal give up four runs in his last start against the Athletics, he dominated Minnesota all day long to earn his 10th win of the season.

Skubal pitched a seven-inning one-hit shutout, letting only two base runners aboard while striking out 13. Skubal’s 13 strikeouts matched his season-high that he also reached on May 25 in a win over the rival Cleveland Guardians.
