The Montreal Canadiens have been on the receiving end of an onslaught from the Carolina Hurricanes over the last three games of the Eastern Conference Finals and are heading back to Raleigh on the brink of elimination. If Montreal is going to survive Game 5 on Friday, they’ll need Nick Suzuki to make an impact.
After recording three assists in the Canadiens 5-2 win in Game 1, the Habs captain has been held without a point and is a combined -3 while on the ice since. After the Canes outshot Montreal 43-18 in Game 4 and held the Canadiens without a shot on goal for the first 17+ minutes of the third period, Suzuki was asked if he and his teammates were running out of gas.
“Too tired? I don’t think so, we’re a pretty young team. I think it’s the Eastern Conference Final, I think you can find some energy,” said the 26 year old.
Despite going quiet in the last three games, Suzuki still has a team-high 16 points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, scoring four goals and dishing out 12 assists in 18 games.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Suzuki’s postseason production followed a career-high 72 assists to go with 29 goals in the regular season. With that being said, can you name the most recent player with at least 70 assists in a season for each NHL franchise?
Good luck!
