ANSWER: That statement used to be correct. Approximately 8,500–9,000 Jews remain in Iran (down from around 100,000 before the 1979 Islamic Revolution). The total population of Iran is roughly 87 million people (as of 2023–2024). Jews comprise approximately 0.01% of Iran’s population. As far as Christians in Iran are concerned, (Armenians & Assyrians), their population is estimated between 100,000 and 150,000. These are primarily members of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Assyrian Church of the East. Their numbers have also significantly declined due to emigration over the past decades. If you add the converts from Islam, you end up with roughly 200,000 – 300,000 Christians.
