The article “How does your WA neighborhood rank for ‘tree equity’? Check this map” (Aug. 20, Climate Lab) notes “a fuller tree canopy comes with a host of benefits.” That’s why I’m glad that U.S. Rep. Marilyn Stickland co-introduced a bipartisan bill, the Cool Corridors Act.
This invests in tree canopies and shade infrastructure along transit corridors, sidewalks, bus stops, school zones and underserved neighborhoods. I hope we’ll see the benefits of this bill soon.
