Vladimir Putin: War crimes and the ICC

Re: “Trump and Putin may get a cold reception from some Alaskans” (Aug. 10, Nation & World):

The authors failed to mention that Russian President Vladimir Putin is wanted by the International Criminal Court for the mass abduction of Ukrainian children.

While the U.S. is not among the 125 members of the ICC, who would be required to arrest Putin if he set foot in their countries, hosting Putin on U.S. soil would send a clear message that the U.S. has no concern for international human rights. That should be the basis of the “cold reception” that Putin should receive in Alaska.
