    Digital billboards: Focus on cleaning graffiti

    Re: “Seattle council considers 8-foot-tall digital billboards in downtown” (May 9, Local News)

    Flashing billboards are a distraction to drivers and unsightly. In my opinion, Seattle should not look like Las Vegas.

    If the purpose is to impress visitors, e.g. during the World Cup 2026, I think the money for the billboards could be better spent by cleaning up the graffiti that mars almost every freeway and many buildings, especially through downtown, where most of the visitors will be staying.
