It’s a part of this new era of college football that fans and coaches are going to have to accept sooner rather than later.
NIL and a seemingly always-open transfer portal have made player mobility easier than ever, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers may find that out in a brutal way this offseason.
According to Chris Hummer of CBS Sports, the powers that be in Lincoln aren’t feeling great about their ability to retain star quarterback Dylan Raiola for 2026. At the very least, there is the feeling that Raiola will look at his options this offseason.
“There’s some doubt about the future of Dylan Raiola at Nebraska,” Hummer reported. “Raiola’s brother, Dayton, decommitted from the Huskers last week, and the program is bracing for Dylan to explore his future options.”
Dayton Raiola, a three-star quarterback, had been committed to Nebraska since September of 2024, so his breaking off that commitment a week ago was a pretty big deal.
