Judge In Liam Payne’s Death Case Considers Charging Two Hotel Workers

A judge in Liam Payne‘s death case is considering bringing charges against two more workers who were employed at the hotel where the singer suffered a fatal fall.

The workers in question include the hotel receptionist head, who reportedly made 911 calls on the day the singer died.

According to reports, the judge believes there is “sufficient reason to suspect” that the two individuals might have participated in the events leading to Liam Payne’s death.

A new update has emerged in the investigation into Liam Payne’s death, which could lead to more people being charged for their possible involvement.

According to documents obtained by Rolling Stone, the presiding judge on the case has ordered that two other individuals be considered for charges, referring to them as “imputados” or “people charged” in the case.

“Since there is sufficient reason to suspect that they have participated in the investigated act, we ask that the following people give a statement,” the document read in part.

Both individuals under consideration for charges worked at the hotel in Buenos Aires, where Payne suffered a fatal fall.

One of them was identified as the hotel manager, while the other was the head receptionist who made multiple 911 calls that day, reporting concerns about Payne’s drunken behavior and that he could be in “danger.”

While it is unclear what charges are being considered against the individuals, both will be notified of the accusations before facing court on December 19.

Meanwhile, dates have already been set for other suspects to be interrogated by the authorities.

On December 17, two individuals accused of “serving” drugs to the late singer will be interrogated, while Payne’s friend, who is charged with abandonment, will be questioned the following day.

All suspects involved in the case have the option to decline to respond to questions if they choose but must do so through their attorneys.

Once the questioning is completed, the judge will decide on whether each suspect “should be further prosecuted, dropped from the case, or if there is insufficient evidence to support either decision.”

In the wake of the authorities naming suspects in the case, one of the alleged drug suppliers, Brian Nahuel Paiz, has denied ever giving the singer drugs.

He revealed that he first met Payne on October 2 while working as a waiter at a restaurant the singer had visited. After their initial interaction, they exchanged contact information and later arranged a second meeting in Payne’s room at a Palermo Hotel.

“I never took drugs to him or accepted any money. I have messages where he’s offering me money because he was apparently used to offering money for everything, but I never accepted anything,” said Paiz, referencing his meetings with Payne, per the Daily Mail.

He added, “When I left he wanted to give me some clothes so that I had a memory of being with him, but I left it behind the TV because I didn’t want to take it.”

Payne’s friend, who had spent some time with him on the day of his death, previously denied abandoning the singer.

“I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened,” said the friend, Rogelio “Roger” Nores. “There were over 15 people at the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left. I could have never imagined something like this would happen.”

Recently, his legal team has accused the Buenos Aires-based hotel of negligence while insisting that there was no real reason for him to be investigated.

In documents obtained by TMZ, Nores’ legal team mentioned that the establishment had no 24-hour doctor, which goes against the law of the country.

They also stated that the hotel was aware of Payne’s intoxicated state for a while but did nothing to address it at the time it mattered.

It’s been revealed that after Payne’s death, his former bandmates have been working to mend their strained relationship.

According to US Weekly, Payne was teammates with Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles as part of the One Direction group they formed after competing on the British TV show “The X Factor.”

After spending years with almost no communication following their split in 2016, Payne’s passing has triggered the rest of the band to recognize the importance of being there for one another, now more than ever.

“[Liam’s death] was a wake-up call for all of them. Prior, they kept in touch sporadically but didn’t have close friendships at all,” the insider told the outlet.

Although they are still deeply mourning the tragic loss, they are constantly reaching out to each other—a move that has brought them closer than ever.

“[They] are checking in on each other and feel closer than they have in years,” the source added about the quartet. “It brought them back together.”
