Justin Bieber Was Allegedly ‘Stung’ By Selena Gomez’s Engagement News

The pop star dated Gomez on and off from 2010 to 2018 before marrying former model Hailey Bieber.

A new report claims Justin Bieber doesn’t plan to dwell on the engagement news and wishes Selena Gomez is “well and happy at the end of the day.”

According to the Daily Mail, Bieber was “stung for a brief second” when he heard that Gomez and her boyfriend, Benny Blanco, had gotten engaged.

A source close to the pop star said, “Justin is married and has a child, we all know that, but when he heard that Selena was engaged, he’ll admit, it stung for a brief second.”

The insider also claimed that the news made Bieber realize it was “officially the end of an era,” even though both he and Gomez had already moved on with their lives.

They added, “His past is so connected with Selena, and now that she is engaged, and he is married and a father, it’s a bit of a shock to the system that everyone is getting older.”

Ultimately, Bieber won’t be “stressing much” about the engagement news and hopes that Gomez is “well and happy at the end of the day.”

He also hopes this serves as a sign for fans to stop “stanning” the relationship he once shared with the singer.

News of Gomez’s engagement to Benny Blanco spread earlier this month after she posted a picture of her dazzling engagement ring on Instagram.

The singer also shared additional photos, including one in which Blanco is seen kissing her on the side of her head in a warm embrace, with her face beaming with a smile.

She also shared another shot of herself grinning as she looked at the ring on her finger, which appeared to have been taken during a picnic she had with Blanco.

Alongside the carousel of pictures, Gomez added the caption, “Forever begins now,” hinting at her excitement to walk down the aisle with Blanco.

Blanco reciprocated the affection in the comments section, writing, “Hey wait… that’s my wife.”

The couple has yet to announce a wedding date, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they set one soon.

Days after Gomez announced her engagement to Blanco, Bieber posted a loving photo of himself with his wife, Hailey, on Instagram.

While the picture itself wouldn’t have raised many eyebrows on a typical day, the 30-year-old singer chose to play Lizzy McAlpine’s “All My Ghosts” in the background.

Once the post gained traction, fans speculated that Bieber was subtly reaching out to his ex-girlfriend, as the song’s lyrics reflect on sweet memories with an ex that the song-writer can’t seem to shake.

One fan wrote, “Guys listen to that song well and you will know Justin is trying to give sel a message,” while another commented, “I don’t know if Justin is for real or joking at this point.”

Although Gomez announced her engagement in December, Blanco reportedly proposed in August.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple chose to keep their engagement a secret because the Rare Beauty founder was determined not to let the announcement coincide with the news that her ex-boyfriend, Bieber, had become a father.

“They became engaged in August, and Selena didn’t want her engagement to be tied to Bieber in any way,” the insider shared. “They knew it would.”

These reports surfaced after Bieber’s name was dragged into conversations about embattled rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was arrested on sex crime charges.

According to The Mirror, sources at the time claimed that Bieber was aware of the allegations against the rapper with whom he once collaborated, but he had no intention of giving them much thought.
