Layne Riggs nearly led Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Indianapolis Raceway Park from wire to wire, leading 198 of 200 laps from the pole and sweeping the stages to secure his fifth win of the 2026 season.

The Truck Series points leader only lost the lead briefly to his Front Row Motorsports teammate, Chandler Smith, to begin Stage 2. Smith clinched a Chase berth with his performance on Friday.

Connor Mosack chopped Riggs’ lead under two seconds in the closing laps as Riggs worked his way through lapped traffic but was unable to get to Riggs, who cruised to victory.

The win is Riggs’ second straight at IRP and the 10th of his Truck Series career.

    Notable TSport 200 results

Mosack, Ty Majeski, Smith and Nick Sanchez rounded out the top five, with Stewart Friesen, Kaden Honeycutt, Gavan Boschele, Tyler Ankrum and Michael Christopher Jr. completing the top 10. The top 10 effort from Boschele came in his Truck Series debut.

Other notable finishers include Gio Ruggiero in 13th, Grant Enfinger in 14th, Ben Rhodes in 15th, Justin Haley in 18th and Jake Garcia in 21st.

Enfinger’s truck had heavy smoke pouring out of it with two laps to go after contact, but he made it back to the checkered flag, and NASCAR held the yellow to allow the race to finish under green.

Daniel Hemric and Landen Lewis finished 34th and 35th, respectively, after being involved in a crash on Lap 136.

Jackson Macenko finished last (36th) after mechanical issues knocked him out of the race after he completed only 74 laps.

The Truck Series will return at Richmond Raceway on Aug. 14. New Hampshire on Aug. 22 will serve as the series’ regular season finale.
