Re: “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in WA will survive another year” (June 25, Local News):

Thank you to state Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal for finding the money in his budget to continue the support for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. More that 120,000 young children receive a free book from Dolly each month in this state. The kids look forward to receiving mail addressed to them personally and love the books.

We hope the 2026 state Legislature will restore funding in the next supplemental budget.

    Robert and Janice Menaul, Seattle
