Matty Healy’s Mom Seen Crying After Taylor Swift Shade

Denise Welch and the singer shared a moment outside a restaurant today where she got emotional over an undisclosed family situation and sought solace in her son’s company.

Matty Healy’s mother’s shade at the Grammy winner caused an outburst from her fans online, but Swift herself reportedly decided to maintain pin-drop silence over the issue.

The mother and son duo stepped out for a heart-to-heart session outside the luxury restaurant where Healy, Welch, and his fiancée, Gabbriette Bechtel, branched to grab a meal. 

The singer, sitting on the floor in a casual ensemble beside his mom, appeared to be holding a cigarette in his hand as he listened to his mom’s speech.

They exchanged a few words before Welch reached for her pocket and pulled out a tissue for her teary eyes. Healy watched on before the clip panned to the next few minutes of the mother and son sharing a long hug with loads of back rubs from Healy.

According to TMZ, a source shared that so many things about the week got Welch very emotional, and on top of the list was a serious family matter.

The songwriter’s mother got a few things off her chest about the way the relationship between Healy and Swift played out. During her interview with Andy Cohen, Welsh was happy she never got to become Swift’s mother-in-law. 

As shared by The Blast, the response was a reaction to Cohen’s question to Welch about Swift’s widely acclaimed 2024 masterpiece “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Swift reportedly threw some shade at her relationship with Healy with some songs on the album, and the singer, alongside his mom, was not too pleased with that. 

Welch explained that being with Swift was tricky business because she makes an album out of any and everything. However, despite Welch’s relief that her son never settled down with the Chiefs’ tight end’s current girlfriend, she still wishes her well.

Welch is the second member of her clan to come for the singer in recent times. Just in June, the singer paused his performance at the Glastonbury Festival in England to throw shade at his ex, now turned nemesis.

“What this moment is making me realize is that I probably am the best. I’m probably the best songwriter of my generation. The best, what do we say, A POET, ladies and gentlemen, is what I am,” he declared, while raising a glass of wine as a toast to the teeming crowd at Worthy Farm in Somerset.

His mother also praised him for handling all the heat and subliminal from Swift with so much class and grace during her session with Cohen. Healy was a regular at Swift’s Eras Tour in 2023 before they went their separate ways later the same year.

Swift and the 1975 lead singer’s brief relationship began nine years after their initial meeting in 2019 and a few months after the billionaire broke things off with her long-term ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.

While the singer’s fans went vicious with Healy’s mom over her comments, Swift has chosen to take a different stance on the matter. As seen on The Blast, sources close to the singer shared that she took the high road in the drama.

Should she decide to take a different route on the conflict, it would be through what she is known for: writing songs. Other than that, she respects Welch and will continue to do so as the matter goes away.

However, if the subliminal continues to surface, Swift with not take the sidelines and she may be forced to use her words. But right now, she is happy and cool as a cucumber.

Her relationship with Travis Kelce is going great as they continue to hit several relationship milestones alongside a music career that continues to shape the culture.
