The Tennessee Titans have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and quarterback will almost certainly be a consideration in that spot.
This week, they have had a chance to meet with former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders at the annual Shrine Game, and they have left a strong first impression on him as he prepares to go through the draft process.
Specifically, Sanders told the Titans’ team website he would be “thankful” if the Titans used the No. 1 pick on him and that he would love to play there.
“I know the city, and I’ve heard a lot of great things about the city,” Sanders said. “And, I obviously see a lot of great things about their fan base. So, I know it’s real fun there.”
Sanders’ dad, Hall of Fame cornerback and current Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, has said he does not necessarily have a preference on where Shedeur ends up playing, but he does have a few teams in mind he would not want his son to play for.
It is not known which teams are on that list, but given the way Shedeur spoke on Saturday, the Titans do not seem to be one of them.
The Titans have several holes on their roster, and none are bigger than quarterback where the Will Levis experiment has not worked out.
Having the top pick in the draft gives the Titans plenty of options when it comes to rebuilding their roster.
In most cases, a quarterback would be a slam-dunk pick in that spot, but this is widely considered to be a down year at the position. Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward project to be the top two quarterbacks taken, and while both may go within the first three or four picks, there is no guarantee either is on the Titans’ radar with the top pick.
Sanders’ teammate, Travis Hunter, is one of the front-runners to go No. 1. The Heisman Trophy winner was a two-way standout at Colorado, excelling as both a wide receiver and a cornerback. That versatility and impact ability might be too much for the Titans to pass up with the top pick.
