The Edmonton Oilers begin their quest to make a third-consecutive Stanley Cup appearance with a game against the Calgary Flames tonight, and they’ll do it with a freshly-extended Connor McDavid.
McDavid and the Oilers agreed to a two-year, $25 million contract extension to keep him in Edmonton through 2027-28. McDavid is coming off of his eighth 100-point season of his career, scoring 26 goals and dishing out 74 assists in 67 games. Considering his perennial production and the increasing value of NHL contracts, McDavid’s $12.5 million-per-year gives the Oilers flexibility to put pieces around him in hopes of winning their first Stanley Cup since 1990.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. McDavid has three Hart Memorial trophies for NHL MVP in his cabinet already, but heading into his 11th season has his eyes on hockey’s biggest prize. With that being said, can you name every Hart Memorial Trophy winner since 1983?
