    Trump administration: Division and distraction

Re: “Trump OKs 2,000 more Guard members; 700 marines deployed” (June 10, A1):

Authoritarians will never stop trying to find scapegoats to blame for all of our perceived problems because they know that they don’t have real solutions.

Throughout human history the sole purpose of scapegoating others by those in power has been to sow division, and to distract the people from noticing everything that they are doing to enrich, to empower, and to benefit themselves and their cronies.

Finding “others” to blame will never stop, unless, “We, The People,” stop them.

If we don’t, then someday we will inevitably find that the blame will be directed at every single one of us.

    Stephen Crotts, Edmonds
