Watch: Bears end TD drought with rushing score vs. Packers

The Chicago Bears found the end zone for the first time in nearly a month in Sunday’s home game against the Green Bay Packers.

On a 3rd-and-goal at the end of the second quarter, with the Bears trailing 7-3, Chicago second-year running back Roschon Johnson barreled in for a one-yard touchdown.

Per NFL researcher Dante Koplowitz-Fleming, Johnson’s score was the Bears’ first TD since Oct. 27, ending a drought of 25 straight offensive drives without a TD. Koplowitz-Fleming added Chicago’s longest TD drought was in Weeks 12-14 in 2005 (30 drives).

The Bears offense has underwhelmed throughout the season. Through its first nine games, Chicago ranks 24th in the league in points scored (19.4).

As a result, the Bears fired offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, replacing him with passing game coordinator Thomas Brown on an interim basis earlier this week.

Monitor whether the coaching change sparks the Bears’ inept offense and helps rookie quarterback Caleb Williams gain footing. Entering the matchup vs. Green Bay, the 2024 No. 1 overall pick hasn’t thrown a TD pass for three consecutive games.
