The former talk-show host was placed under court-ordered guardianship, but is expected to be out of her conservatorship by the end of the year.

Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia about two years ago. However, newer findings suggest that she does not have the brain disease, and as such, no longer needs to be under guardianship.

Wendy Williams Is Allegedly A Few Weeks Away From Freedom

Williams is now counting down weeks until she can regain her freedom. Her legal representative, Joe Tacopina, in an interview with ABC’s “Nightline,” confirmed that his client “does not have frontotemporal dementia, so that should be game, set, match.”

“The plan is this … there are guardianship attorneys … and we’re watching and waiting, and they’ve assured Wendy by year’s end she’ll be out of guardianship,” Tacopina said, per Page Six.

Williams recently underwent a series of tests to ascertain the extent of her diagnosis. However, the results from the new findings contradicted previous claims that suggested the talk show host suffered from brain disease.

After the results of the new tests were sent to Williams’ legal team, Tacopina confirmed that he would demand a jury trial to challenge his client’s court-ordered guardianship.

The former talk show host donned a top paired with denim shorts and a black fur coat for the night. She was spotted leaving the premises shortly before midnight, after spending about four hours there.

According to The Blast, she was captured locking arms with her niece and looking joyful. Williams was also spotted out and about the following day, as she spent more time with Finnie at Fresco by Scotto in midtown Manhattan.

Williams’ outing came weeks after her diagnosis was disputed following more medical investigations.

As The Blast reported, the former radio host was declared healthy, with no signs of dementia. The new results contradicted previous findings, which suggested that Williams had tested positive for the degenerative condition.

Fans worldwide reacted to the news of Williams’ disputed diagnosis, with many expressing shock at the turn of events.

“Somebody is about to get SUED!!!!! How many months/years of psych meds have they had this woman on, for no reason???” One fan lamented.

“She needs a multi-million dollar payout immediately, and the judge needs their license revoked. She also needs to sue the entire planet,” another fan wrote.

Despite the new update about Williams’ health, she was reportedly prevented from freely moving about on her own.

Sources close to the situation claimed that Williams had made plans to celebrate the good news about her health. However, following two weeks of intense preparations for the party, she was unable to attend it because her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, got in the way.

Per The Blast, Williams was still unable to leave her living facility in New York without proper clearance from her guardian. She could’ve also been allowed to leave if there had been a bodyguard present, but unfortunately, there was no one at the time.

A source claimed it was all because of Morrissey, saying, “She couldn’t get in touch with her bodyguard. She thinks Sabrina may have dismissed him.”

Before getting the good news about her health, Williams was reportedly worried about the state of her finances, as she was no longer in charge.

According to The Blast, she was reading an article about her ongoing guardianship and battle with Morrissey when she discovered how much was being spent on her rented apartment in Coterie.

The findings reportedly noted that she was paying $25,000, not $18,000, as she was initially led to believe.

As a result, Williams got worried, as she believed Morrissey wasn’t handling her finances properly. That, in addition to the lack of income due to her diagnosis, caused severe stress for Williams.

The mother-of-one was also reportedly surviving on $200-$300 weekly, and in addition to that, she was said to be in the dark regarding Uber and taxi fees.
