Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning was one of the most hyped-up prospects in recent memory when he entered the college scene. The nephew of Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, the younger Manning had been used to having all the attention on him since he was in high school.
Manning struggled for much of last season, throwing just 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions, with a foot injury said to be hampering him. Now, the Longhorns quarterback is healthy and looking much more confident to start this season. He finished the opening game of the season against Texas State with 305 yards and four touchdowns, although he threw a bad interception in the end zone to end the first half.
There are still some things for Manning to clean up, but he looks much better overall than he did for most of the 2025 season. Even Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian acknowledged it, giving his quarterback some praise for the efficient performance.
